- No safety briefing mentioned: Any legitimate quad, buggy, or camel excursion should include a pre-activity safety briefing. If the operator cannot describe their safety process, walk away.
- No helmets or safety gear: Ask directly whether helmets are provided for motorized activities. Reputable operators include helmets, goggles, and sometimes gloves as standard.
- Unclear or changing pricing: If the price shifts during conversation, if there are vague mentions of extras, or if the total feels deliberately confusing, this is a major red flag.
- Aggressive selling tactics: Legitimate operators do not need to pressure you. If someone is following you through the medina or making you feel rushed, they are likely an intermediary collecting commission.
- No online presence: In 2024, any professional excursion company has at minimum a website, Google reviews, or active social media. No digital footprint means no accountability.
- Cash-only with no receipt: While cash is common in Morocco, refusing to provide any written or digital confirmation is a warning sign.

When you book with a professional excursion company, you should expect all of the following as standard:
- Clear, all-inclusive pricing: The quoted price covers transport, activity, equipment, and any included meals. No hidden surprises.
- Written confirmation: Whether via WhatsApp message, email, or booking form — you receive documented proof of your reservation with date, time, and inclusions.
- Hotel pickup and drop-off: Professional operators collect you from your accommodation and return you safely, eliminating navigation stress.
- Safety equipment: Helmets, goggles, and protective gear provided and checked before every ride.
- Safety briefing: A proper explanation of how to operate the vehicle or handle the animal, emergency procedures, and route information.
- Insurance coverage: Legitimate companies carry liability insurance. Ask about this — a real operator will confirm without hesitation.
