What Travelers Say
"So much better than the 1-hour rides! You actually get deep into the palm groves where it's quiet and beautiful. The mint tea break was a lovely touch. Our guide Youssef knew every path."
"The extended ride gave us time to really relax and enjoy the scenery instead of rushing. Small group of only 6 people made it feel intimate. The hidden gardens were magical — you'd never find them on your own."
"Worth every extra euro over the 1-hour option. The scenery changes completely once you get past the tourist areas. Saw real agricultural life, beautiful old palm trees, and even some wildlife. Highly recommend!"
Frequently Asked Questions
The 2-hour ride goes much deeper into the oasis, away from the main tourist paths. You'll see ancient irrigation systems, hidden gardens, and Berber villages that the shorter ride simply doesn't reach. The pace is more relaxed, groups are smaller (max 10 vs 15), and you get a mint tea break midway.
No special fitness is required. You're sitting on the camel the entire time (except during the tea break). The ride is gentle and the camels walk at a comfortable pace. If you can sit upright for 2 hours with a break in between, you'll be absolutely fine.
Absolutely! We encourage photos. A phone with a strap or a camera with a neck strap works best. Your guide will stop at scenic spots and is happy to take photos of you. We recommend securing your device during mounting and dismounting.
This ride is available year-round. October to April offers the most comfortable temperatures (18-25°C). In summer (June-August), we schedule rides early morning or late afternoon to avoid peak heat. The palm groves provide natural shade throughout the route.
